A Pikelet Leads the Way

The Western Southland website is undergoing some changes. They've added their first podcast in hopes of attracting more visitors to Western Southland. This podcast was done at Yesteryears Museum & Cafe in Tuatapere and features a recipe for pikelets that has been handed down through the generations. I wonder if the originator ever imagined that her recipe would be lead the region in its first global broadcast.

More podcasts from local communities will be created over the coming year and an events page will be added.

If you have any suggestions for this website, please let them know.

What podcasts, if any, do you think should be on the Otautau page? Feel free to leave your comments.

The Otautau New Life Church has published their new website:

And lastly, Amy Mullen, our physician at the Otautau Medical Clinic, has used Google Maps to show the world her favourite places in New Zealand:
She's been more places than I have!

Get Blog Updates by Email

I've added a new feature to the blog. Instead of having to check the blog manually, you can get updates automatically by email.

Fill in your email address in the box on the right. You will be taken to a page at Feedblitz that asks you to type in the letters and numbers you see in an image; this is to stop spammers from getting into the email system. Then click 'Subscribe me'. You'll then have to check your email for a confirmation mail. Click on the link in the email and then you'll be subscribed.

It's a bit of a long process but it's meant for everyone's protection against spammers and people doing dastardly deeds.

If you have trouble or questions about this process, let me know.
