Mark 4 October on your calendars because the Otautau & District Creative Arts Trust are putting on a Spring Fashion Show featuring the very best from Classic Clothing. Women come in all shapes and sizes so there will be something for everyone. This sounds like a really fun night out so invite all your friends. The show will take place at the Sports Complex, 4 October, 7:30pm. Wine and refreshments will be served. Tickets are only $10 and on sale now at the Otautau Joinery Showroom on Main Street.

Otautau Museum Calendar 2008
The Otautau Museum has created a calendar for 2008. It's an A3 size calendar and contains 7 B&W images of historical Otautau and district. The cover features the Courthouse in recognition of its centenary (1908-2008). Supplies are limited so get in quick and get your holiday shopping done. Buy them at the Courthouse, Sundays, 2pm-4pm or from Museum Trust members.

The ever-widening river
The Aparima River looks very wide today. Here are a few pics taken south of the town. The bottom picture shows the Bright Wood Mill in the upper left. I've read that in the old days, before there were any buildings in Otautau (about 1850s-60s), it was so wet and swampy that when it did flood, the whole area was just like a lake.
