Waters on the Rise

After such a steady rain, the waters surrounding Otautau - the Otautau Stream and the Aparima River - are on the rise and looking impressive. Otautau Stream from traffic bridge looking west
It hasn't been this wide in a long time.

The 'island' that used to be in the middle was removed a few months ago by SDC. Now the waters flow freely.

The thing in the middle is a big tree trunk, as big as a car, floating downstream like a feather.

There was some flooding noted at Lieman Street near the Otautau Main Road but not too bad. More like a big puddle.
