Junior Tour of Southland

The 2010 Yunca Junior Tour of Southland starts tomorrow with individual time trials at Teretonga. Then on Saturday, Stage 2 is the Otautau circuit, and Stage 3 - the Tuatapere circuit. On Sunday, Stage 4 is the Invercargill criterium and Stage 5 is the Lorneville-Dacre-Springhills circuit.

It's always exciting to watch young cyclists riding through town so be sure to come out on Saturday and cheer them on. More information on the tour and maps can be found on the Yunca website.

The Powernet Tour of Southland is coming up - 1-6 November so this is the time to get organised.

Annual Book Sale

The annual Otautau Book Sale is happening in just two weeks - 16 & 17 October. As usual, there are loads of books to check out - something for everyone - and at very cheap prices.

The sale takes place at the old Courthouse, 146 Main Street, Otautau. Hours will be 9am to 4pm both days.

If you're spring cleaning, there's still time to donate your books. Just drop them off at the SDC Otautau office on Main Street.

Proceeds go to the Otautau Heritage Trust and the Otautau Museum Trust.
