Quake-Prone Buildings

According to the Southland Times (30 Aug) we've got a few quake-prone buildings in Otautau. Three of them deliver significant services to the area - Fire, Police and the Council.

Seismic upgrades are incredibly expensive. Some owners may decide it's cheaper to demolish. We shall see how this challenge plays out over the next decade or so.
