Spinning Group Open Day

Marvelous day at the Spinning Group's Open Day held today at the New Life Church. Participants came from as far away as Milton and some even brought their knitting.

Most folks were not comfortable with their photos being taken so here are a few 'neutral' glimpses.

The wool was beautiful as were many of the cardigans, necklaces and other goodies. I had my eye on the Christmas placemats but alas, they were part of the raffle, which I must say led to some tense moments as many waited to see if their number was next.

I missed the morning presentations but in the afternoon, Evelyn Ussher gave an interesting talk on her role in the planning and logistics of the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic expedition.

Thanks again to the organisers for having this wonderful event in Otautau.
